To ensure that the orphan and poor tribal abandoned children who call HEM Ashram home get three nutritious meals a day, we are attempting to grow organic food on the plots and farmland surround the HEM campus. We have started fencing the farm areas to keep the animals at bay, and with recycled grey water expected from the septic project, we plan to significantly expand our agricultural activities. The land is being prepared for rainwater harvest and eco-friendly methods are being implemented.

Though the kids come from farming communities, they have missed out on the practical applications of farming and with their renewed involvement in our eco-friendly farming activities, we will provide an important extra-curricular and educational activity. We plan to expand on the fruits and vegetables we grow for self-consumption and for sale.
