80% of the people in the region are illiterate. Though they have lost the opportunity and have crossed the age of formal education, they feel a need for learning to read and write. With no opportunity to have their voices heard; and to the possibility of watching their children repeat the cycle we decided to break the cycle and bring them into the mainstream.

Every summer vacation our teachers dedicate themselves to teaching villagers. During the day people are busy with their farming so our teachers arranage classes in the community halls during nights. In the last few years we have helped hundreds of adults gain literacy skills.
